When you first run Poser 1 you will be asked to enter a serial number, you should type in the following:

Application notes
Poser loves memory. If you are working with more than three figures you will need to increase the memory allocated to Poser (see page 3 of the User Guide for instructions). This becomes even more critical when you increase the window size or apply bump and texture maps to your figures.
You can force Poser to conserve memory by un-checking the Draw Offscreen option in Edit/Preferences. This will give Poser a little more RAM to work with.
To improve performance work in 8-bit mode (256 colors) while posing your figures, then switch to 24-bit mode (millions of colors) to render.
When printing with Poser the LaserWriter 8.x driver provides much better results than the older LaserWriter 7.x driver. Using the LaserWriter 8 driver, Poser can reduce a printed document, however if you want to enlarge a document, you will need to export your Poser model and print from an application like Painter or Photoshop.
The maximum size of a render is 4090x4090 pixels. The maximum size for imported backgrounds is 4095x4095. When working with large files be patient-they take a long time to import and save. It is also a good idea to allocate more memory to Poser when rendering or importing large files.
